Global Black is proud to announce the launch of our Fellowship Program, aimed at nurturing emerging leaders dedicated to advancing justice and empowerment for people of African descent worldwide. As a transnational advocacy and strategy organization, Global Black is committed to fostering connections, collective advocacy, and amplification of issues concerning the Global Black family. Our mission is to create a world where every individual of African descent can thrive, free from discrimination and oppression. The Fellowship Program offers a unique opportunity for two exceptional individuals to join our team, working closely with our experts on projects that make a real impact in communities globally. Global Fellows will dedicate nine months to their work at Global Black. During this period, they will receive a stipend to support their fellowship appointment.
Global Fellows are expected to demonstrate a holistic and strategic approach to advocacy and empowerment within the Global African Diaspora. The ideal candidate stands out through:
- Mission Dedication: demonstrates a clear commitment to GB’s mission. Actively engages in connecting, collective advocacy, strategizing, and amplifying concerns crucial to the global Black family.
- Thought Leadership: The candidate functions as a thought leader, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of strategic programs and events. This showcases a forward-thinking approach and a proactive stance in advancing the goals of Global Black.
- Effective Oversight: effectively oversees programmatic areas, indicating a structured and well-managed approach to achieving its mission. Collaborating with strategic partners reflects a commitment to leveraging external resources for maximum impact.
Eligibility:
- Exceptional individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, or related fields.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in relevant areas.
- Experience in research, activism, or participation in initiatives related to human rights, social justice, peace, governance, or government.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in English (or another predominant language) is essential; knowledge of a second language is desirable.
- Commitment to the vision of Global Black and a passion for social justice and racial equity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Willingness to work remotely with flexibility and engage in international travel and events.
Timeline:
- August 1, 2024: Application portal opens.
- August 1 to September 1, 2024: Applicants may submit their materials via the Global Black Website.
- September 1, 2024: Deadline for submissions.
- September 2024: Notification of recipients.
